Re-elect Connie Cain Ramsey For Assistant Judge of Chittenden County
Connie was first elected Assistant Judge in November of 2010. Judge Ramsey is dedicated to ensuring that the best interests of children are considered above all else in divorce proceedings, to making sure victims of domestic abuse are protected, and to protecting the private rights of individuals and organizations.
Judge Ramsey has been trained by the State of Vermont in Courtroom Ethics and Procedure, and has earned the State Accreditation to Preside over Uncontested Divorces. Ramsey has been trained by the National Judicial College, based in Reno, Nevada in Civil Mediation, as well as Judicial Decision Making. She is an active member of the National Association of County Judges as well as the Vermont Association of Assistant Judges. She is the author of historical, court-related articles entitled “Courthouse Chronicles”, which are included in this web site.
Connie has deep roots in Chittenden County, she is an 8th generation Vermonter and takes great pride in serving as a steward to Chittenden County’s properties, including the historic and beautiful Chittenden County Courthouse on the corner of Church and Main Street, as well as the Sheriff's Department in South Burlington.
Connie lives in Chittenden County with her husband Jack, Dachshund Oscar, and has two grown children, Polly Ramsey Mangan and John Taggart Ramsey. She is very grateful that her family has now expanded to include son-in-law Chad Mangan and grandchild Dexter, as well as daughter-in-law Rachel Seaman Ramsey and grandchildren Moxie and Revel.
